What you will learn in this course
This course is the ultimate guide to learning Arduino robotics.
It is ideal for children in high school , aged 13 and up (and of course adults that would like to get started with learning robotics)
The course is a great way to be introduced to script coding (C++) while making things happen in the real world.
The reason why I developed this course is not because there aren't courses, but because there are too many courses, but when I started doing them I realised they were made by:
- techies (who presume too much previous knowledge) or
- adults just building projects without any explanation of what is happening, (which I needed to be able to build projects of my own), or
- by adults who don't realise that learning can be fun.
After this course you should not only be comfortable with Arduino robotics technolgy and coding, you should also be able and confident to sit down and design your own robotic projects and start applying your own creative ideas in robotics.
One more thing. Remember, you can do this course at your own speed.
You can adjust the speed at which you listen to the videos by clicking on the gear icon and setting the speed.
You can go back and re-listen to parts of the video, or even pause as you catch up while building your own projects. You will be able to adapt your listening to your learning preferences.
We have set short quizzes after each section just to check if you understood some of the concepts. This is a self assessment, so if you are not getting the answers right, then perhaps listen to the video or read the materials again. You might have missed something important.
While it is possible to just follow the videos, or even build and code the project on simulators, it is highly recommended that you actually build the projects and code them yourself. It is the best way to retain the information so that you will be able to do it yourself later, and to learn troubleshooting skills, which are essential in robotics.

To complete the practical activities included in the Arduino L3 Online Course, each learner will need access to the equipment and components listed below.
Main Equipment
- Arduino UNO R3-compatible board (CH340) – Quantity: 1
- USB A-to-B data cable compatible with Arduino – Quantity: 1
- Half-size solderless breadboard (approximately 400 points) – Quantity: 1
Input and Sensor Components
- 10 kΩ rotary potentiometer module with 3-pin analogue output – Quantity: 1
- Push-button module with 3-pin digital output – Quantity: 1
- HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor – Quantity: 1
- 13 mm round force-sensitive resistor (FSR pressure sensor) – Quantity: 1
Output Components
- RGB LED module with 4 pins and onboard resistors – Quantity: 1
- Passive piezo buzzer suitable for PWM and tone control – Quantity: 1
- Standard 5 mm LEDs – Quantity: 10
- SG90 9 g micro servo motor with 180° rotation – Quantity: 1
Resistors

Important Information
- Batteries are not required and are not included.
- Please ensure that the RGB LED, potentiometer and push button are purchased as modules, rather than as loose components.
- The servo motor must be an SG90 9 g micro servo with 180° positional rotation, not a 360° continuous-rotation servo.
